Christopher Eccleston returns as Fagin with his gang set on pinching Queen Victoria’s crown.
The Bafta winning Dodger is returning for its second Christmas special this year.
The fun family show, which sees Christopher Eccleston as Fagin in charge of his thieving gang, will be attempting their most audacious heist yet: they’ve set their sights on pinching Queen Victoria’s coronation crown.
Christopher Eccleston is joined by Billy Jenkins (Dodger), Ellie-May Sheridan (Polly), Connor Curren (Tom), Mila Lieu (Tang), Lenny Rush (Morgan), Javone Prince (PC Blathers), Tony Way (Jon The News) and Ed Kear (Neville).
The special’s guest stars are Simon Callow (The Archbishop of Canterbury), Nicola Coughlan (Queen Victoria), Toby Stephens (US President Martin Van Buren), Paul Whitehouse (Royston, Chief of the Yeoman Guard), Dan Renton Skinner (Maurice The Beefeater) and Alex Macqueen (John Bridge, The Crown Jeweller).
Paul Whitehouse, Simon Callow, Alec MacQueen, Nicola Coughlan & Toby Stephens.
Writers Rhys Thomas and Lucy Montgomery, who also return as PC Duff and Minnie Bilge respectively said:
“Dodger just keeps getting bigger and better – look at that glittering guest cast! We are overjoyed to be back in the top hat and what a thrill to pack another Coronation into an already regal year.”
The special will air on BBC sometime over the festive period. Then, it will pop up the iPlayer from 29th December and on CBBC on 3rd January.
Dodger comes from BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions in association with Universal International Studios.
You can catch up with the first series of Dodger and the three 2022 specials on BBC iPlayer
